RGUHS PG Super Speciality Test 2009

NOTIFICATION

The University will be conducting the Entrance Test on 23.07.2009 for admission to Postgraduate Super Speciality Fresh Coursesnotified by Government of India for the academic year 2009‐10. The eligible candidates willing to appear for the test may register online on the RGUHS website (www.rguhs.ac.in) from 10.07.2009. Please refer to RGUHS website for detailed schedule etc.

Post Graduate Super Speciality Entrance Test is being conducted for admission to PG Super Speciality courses in respect of seats in the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, Bangalore and Institute of Nephro Urology, Victoria Hospital Campus, Bangalore.

A person shall be eligible for admission to Post Graduate Super Speciality degree courses only if he/she:
a) is a Citizen of India.
b) has a MBBS Degree from a University established by law in India as recognised by the MCI and must possess recognized degree of M.D. / M.S. (or its equivalent recognised degree) in the subject shown against them from a Univerisity established by law in India and recognised by the MCI or any other University recognized by the Medical Council of India and declared as equivalent.

Please note that the candidate will not become eligible for attending the entrance test only by online registration. The candidate must ensure that print out of his/her application with all enclosures mentioned in the brochure reaches the RGUHS by 15.07.2009, 5.00 PM by post. The university does not hold the responsibility for loss or delay in postal deliver.
2.
Last date to receive the duly filled-in application along with certificates at RGUHS in person is 18.07.2009 before 5.00 PM. The applications without the attachment of required attested certificates are rejected.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO MEDICAL
POST GRADUATE SUPER SPECIALITY COURSES, KERALA - 2009
N O T I F I C A T I O N
1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Medical Post Graduate Super Speciality Courses, Kerala 2009 in the Medical Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kozhikode in the following Specialities.
1. M. Ch. Paediatric Surgery 6. M. Ch. Gastroenterology Surgery

2. Eligibility for Admission:
(a) Nativity
(i) The applicant should be an Indian citizen
(ii) Should have passed the Post Graduate degree (MD/MS/Dip. N.B) from any of the Medical College recognized by the Medical Council of India
(iii)Should have done at least one year compulsory rural service/senior residency /Government Service in any of the Government Medical Colleges/Government Hospitals in Kerala.
(iv)In case sufficient number of candidates fulfilling the condition as per (iii) above is not available, candidates who are otherwise qualified will also be considered, based on the merit in the entrance test.
(v)Only candidates who have passed out from the Medical Colleges in Kerala will be first considered for preparation of rank list. In case, sufficient number of candidates in the above category is not available for admission for any reason, candidates from other states will be considered for the balance seats, based on the merit in the entrance test.
(b) Academic qualifications:
(i) M.B.B.S. Degree
(ii) Appropriate Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS) or appropriate Diploma of National Board. The M.D./M.S. Degree should be obtained from any University in Kerala or from Universities outside Kerala in which case they should be recognized as equivalent by Universities in Kerala. Service candidates who have appeared or appearing for MD / MS Examination can also apply. They should submit their P G Degree Certificate at the time of Counseling.
(iii) Registration: Candidates should have got their M B B S and P G Degrees registered permanently with State [T. C.] Medical Council and the proof should be submitted at the time of Counseling.
(iv) Age: Upper age limit for General Merit Candidates will be 45 years and it will be 47 years for Service Candidates, as on the last date of submission of Application (13.06.2009).
3. Selection and Entrance Examination: Candidates desirous of being considered against General seats will have to appear for the Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Thiruvananthapuram. All General Merit quota candidates shall have to qualify the Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala by securing minimum of 50% marks. For Service candidates the eligibility will be as per the provisions of Kerala Medical Officers Admission to Post Graduate Courses under service quota Act
2008.Accordingly the selection of service candidates will be based on the seniority in service and they do not have to appear for the Entrance Examinations. The Entrance Examination will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram on 27.06.2009 (Saturday) and
28.06.2009 (Sunday).
It will consist of two Papers, each of one and half hours durationand the questions will be of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions). Appearance inPaper I and II of the Entrance Examination is compulsory for admission to the course.
Details regarding the courses, eligibility are given in the Prospectus issued by theDirector of Medical Education (DME).
4. Application forms: Prospectus and Application form will be available from
23.05.2009 onwards in the website “www.cee-kerala.org” (See Clause VII of the
Prospectus). The Application procedure is common for General and Service candidates.Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the on line application form provided in the website “www.cee-kerala.org” of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fee at any SBT Branch. Candidates residing outside Kerala state can remit the application fee by way of demand Draft drawn from any nationalized bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable
at Thiruvananthapuram. Application fee for General/Service candidates is Rs.1500/-. Service candidates who seek admission under General Quota also, should pay a total amount of Rs.3000/- [Please see Clause VII (a)]. Application forms will not be sold from the office of the CEE or office of the DME. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates, seeking
admission should take a print out of the application form, affix passport size photograph duly attested by the candidates in the space provided, and forward their completed application with all the required documents, including original bank voucher, mentioned in clause VII (d) of the prospectus to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations,
Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 001, either by Registered Post, by Speed Post or Hand Delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on 13.06.2009 [Saturday]. Applicants to Service quota seats should complete all the procedures mentioned in clause VII (a), (b) & (c). However, instead of forwarding the printout of the application form to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, the service quota candidates are required to forward the application along with copies of all required documents, to their Controlling Officer as stipulated in the Prospectus, on or before 13.06.2009. Service candidates seeking admission in General Merit quota will
have to forward the application form both to the Controlling Officer and Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. Late, defective and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. No correspondence will be undertaken in this regard. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay.

1. The Competitive Entrance Examination for D.M./M.Ch. Courses will be held at Jaipur on 14-6-2009, as per programme to be communicated along with Admission Card. 6. Selection of Candidate for D.M./M.Ch. Courses under Ordinance 278(D) will be made as per the procedure given below:-
1. Pre-Selection of candidates for these course will be made on the basis of multiple-choice questions carrying 80 marks. The Theory Examination is of 90 minutes duration. The questions will be from applied basic sciences and general subjects of Medicine (for DM) Surgery (for M.Ch.) directly or indirectly in reference with the concerned superspecialities of the standard of MD/MS Examination. Marking Scheme:– One mark will be awarded for each correct answer. One quarter mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. More than one answer for single will be considered as wrong.
2. Candidates found suitable on the basis of marks obtained in the theory examination will be required to appear in clinical/practical examination in the subject concerned. Separate merit lists will be prepared for each subject.
Clinical/Practical Examination Conducted by the Department concerned carries 20 marks. The general cases of the concerned superspeciality will be kept alongwith X-rays instruments and pathology specimens. Three senior members of the concerned department under the governorship of Head of department will conduct it.
4. Based on the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates for (i) Theory Paper and (ii) Clinical/Practical and Viva-Voce Examination, merit list will be prepared subject wise separately. The candidates will then be interviewed by the Selection Committee comprising of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the concerned super speciality for the purpose, which will recommend name of those found suitable for admission. The selection shall be finalized only after candidates are interviewed by the selection committee. The interview by the selection committee is mandatory. A candidate who is absent at the time of interview
will not be considered for admission. The interview with the selection committee does not carry any marks.

(b) In the case of candidates who secure same marks in the Entrance Examination, selection will be made based on their academic performance in the qualifying examination prescribed for admission.

  • MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY
  1. For DM Medical Oncology, posses a MCI recognized postgraduate degree (MD or equivalent) in General Medicine Or Pediatrics Or Radiotherapy

  2. For M.Ch. Surgical Oncology, posses a MCI recognized postgraduate degree (MS or equivalent) in General Surgery Or ENT (Otorhinolaryngology) Or Orthopedics Or Obstetrics and Gynecology

  3. Passed the qualifying examination (MD/MS or equivalent) in no more than two attempts.

  4. Secured an average of 55% marks or more in the III-MBBS (Final MBBS) Exams
  • AVAILABILITY OF APPLICATION FORMS
  1. Application forms are available online and free of cost. It should be downloaded from TMH Web site – http:\\tmh.gov.in
  •  SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS
  1. Interested candidates having the minimal eligibility criteria should download the application form and fill it completely in his or her own handwriting. All the entries in the form should be filled by the same writing material in a legible manner. Only an application made using the downloaded form through Internet will be accepted. Please do not try to alter the form in any way. Candidates are advised to print the application form on one side of the paper only. 

  2. The application must be accompanied with attested copies of all the mark sheets / certificates / degrees / registration number, certificate and other documents (from High School to MD / MS) and other original documents which filled up appropriately.

  3. The completed application form with all necessary enclosures should be mailed to the office of the Dean, TMC on or before 25th May 2009.  The envelope containing the application should be superscripted “APPLICATION FOR DM/M.Ch COURSE    .  Applications sent by Fax, E-Mail, Photocopies or any other form will not be entertained.  

  4. Duly completed application must be accompanied with a DD drawn on a Nationalized Bank and payable at Mumbai in favor of “DIRECTOR, Tata Memorial Centre” of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).  Demand Draft submitted with this form includes examination fees and is not refundable in any case.

  5. Incomplete applications will be rejected and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.  Applications received after the last date will not be ejected, and no grounds for delay including postal delay will be entertained.

  6. All passport size photographs must be self addressed, identical, snapped with front profile, showing full head, face, shoulder and with both ears and taken without wearing any Cap/Hat/Sun glasses.  Polaroid photos are not accepted.  Photograph must be taken on or after 31st December 2008, with a placard indicating the date.

  7. Provisional admit card shall be sent by Registered Post to the candidates.  If an eligible candidate does not receive the admit card, he/she may contact the office of the Dean, Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai on   1st  June 2009   along with 2 copies of identical to those pasted in original in application form.
  • PATTERN OF THE EXAMINATION:  
  1. There will be one MCQ type of paper with 100 questions to be completed in 100 minutes.

  2. Each correct answer will fetch 2 marks and each wrong answer will fetch one minus mark (negative mark)

  3. Candidates who have secured above 50% marks in the MCQ test will be called for the Viva Examination by the selection Committee on the same evening OR next day morning. The Viva will be of 50 marks.

  4. Final merit list will be based on the total scores obtained out of a maximum of 250 marks which will be derived by adding the 200 marks (MCQ) and 50 marks for Viva Examination. 

  5. For Surgical Oncology MCQ, 50 questions will be non oncology related topics from general surgery (30 questions), ENT (10 questions), Orthopedics (5 questions) and Gynecology (5 questions). 50 questions will be on various surgical oncology topics including 10 marks on recent advances in surgical oncology. 

  6. For Medical Oncology MCQ, 50 questions will be non oncology related topics from general Medicine (30 questions), Radiotherapy (10 questions), Pediatrics (10 questions). 50 questions will be on various Medical Oncology topics including 10 marks on recent advances in Medical oncology.
  • SELECTION:
  1. Final merit list will be declared & posted on the TMH website. http:\\tmh.gov.in

  2. The candidates will be selected for admission strictly based on the marks obtained in the MCQ and Viva.  In case of equal marks in the test the ranking of the candidates shall be determined in the following order :-
    1. In case of candidates having equal marks in the test, the merit shall be decided on the basis of number of failures at the MD/MS examination.  One mark will be deducted out of the marks obtained by the candidates in the written test for each failure.

    2. In case of candidates having equal marks vice (a) above, the merit shall be decided on the basis of percentage of aggregate or marks obtained by the candidates in III-MBBS (Final Examination).

    3. In case of candidates having equal percentage of aggregate marks at the MBBS (Final) Examination vice (b) above, the merit shall be decided on the basis of percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in Medicine (for selection to DM course) and Surgery (for selection to M.Ch. course) in the MBBS examination.

    4. If the marks at the above vice (c) happen to be the same the date of birth would be the basis  i.e. the candidate senior in the age would rank higher.
  • GENERAL :
    1. The DM/M.Ch. course is a full time residential course. Students will be provided sharing accommodation and stipend as per the institutions norms.


    2. The decision of the Director, Tata Memorial Centre shall be final and binding on the candidates in respect of the admission tests.


    3. The admission and continuance of Registration / Residency of the candidate shall be subject to the HBNI Act, Statutes, Ordinance, Rules and Regulations and orders as may be applicable from time to time. 


    4. The decisions of the Postgraduate Studies Board, Tata Memorial Centre, and Board of Health Sciences, HBNI in all the matters of admission / registration shall be final and binding on the candidate.


    5. Mere submission of application and appearing and qualifying in the examination or test will not entitle the candidates to claim the admission in any of the above course.  The candidates must note that if is found that he / she is not eligible, the Dean Office will not issue the Admit Card and will not take any responsibility in this regard.


    6. No TA / DA will be admissible for attending the written test and joining the course.

    7. Candidate will have to produce original documents including documentary proof that their medical degrees are recognized by MCI before final admission.

Essential Qualifications for PDF Courses: DM (Nephrology) for Renal Transplantation Medicine, M.Ch (Urology) for Renal Transplantation Surgery, M.Ch (Neurosurgery) for Pediatric Neurosurgery and Neurosurgical Oncology. M.Ch. (CVTS) for Paediatrics Cardiac Surgery/Minimally Invasive Cardiac Vascular and Thoracic Surgery or any other equivalent qualification recognized by Medical council of India. For PDF courses candidate should submit a write up of about 200 words to describe the work done by him/her in the area, the reason for applying for PDF course and what he/she wants to do after PDF. He/She should also give names of two referees.

Candidates applying for PDF are exempted from theory examination, but they would have to appear in an interview to be held on Monday dated 08.06.2009 in respective departments.

Age limit: Upper age limit for eligibility is 35 Years on the first day of the month of start of the Session i.e. on 01/07/2009. Age relaxation of a maximum of 5 years may be given to SC/ST/OBC candidates (only those having Domicile in the state of Uttar Pradesh). Reservation to widowed/divorced/legally-separated women who have not re-married and disabled/handicapped persons will be as per Government rules. There is no upper age limit for PDF Course.

Note: Incomplete and incorrect applications, in any respect, would be rejected.

HOW TO APPLYThe information brochure and application forms can be downloaded from the Institute’s website [http://www.sgpgi.ac.in] duringSaturday 25th April 2009 to Wednesday 20th May 2009. The candidates will have to fill up the APPLICATION FORM ONLINE. After online submission a print out of filled in application form MUST be taken and sent to Executive Registrar SGPGIMS Lucknow 226014 along with all relevant documents in support of age, qualification, experience, reservation etc and duly signed by the candidate. A bank draft of Rs. 1,000/- towards examination fee should also be attached with the application form. The Bank Draft should be drawn in favour of Director, SGPGIMS, Lucknow Academic Account, drawn on SBI, SGPGI Branch, (Code No. 7789), payable at Lucknow. The last date of receiving of completed application forms along with necessary enclosures is Wednesday 20th May 2009.

HOW TO KNOW YOUR ELIGIBILITYEligibility status of each application will be available on the same Website on Monday 1st  June  2009.

HOW TO GET YOUR ADMIT CARD: Eligible candidates can print their Admit Card ONLINE (only once) between 1st June to 6th June 2009, using their email id, password & registration no. provided at the time of filling the application.

HOW TO KNOW YOUR RESULT:  The list of candidates called for departmental test will be displayed the day following the PART A – objective written examination.
The final result of entrance exam will be available on the Institute website / Institute notice boards within one week of the entrance exam.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  1. Part A – objective MCQ written examination for selection of DM/M.Ch/PDCC/ Senior Residents (HS) will be held on Sunday 07th June, 2009 from 10.30 AM to 12.00 Noon. Based on result of Part-A examination candidate will be called for Part –B departmental objective test examination. Interview for PDF posts will be held on 08.06.2009 from 10.00 AM onwards in respective departments.
  2. The number of seats/posts advertised may increase or decrease.
  3. Reservation will apply as per rule. Reservation will be admissible only to candidates having Domicile in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates having Domicile other than Uttar Pradesh will be treated as General category candidates for all purposes.
  4. The Candidates must possess MD / MS Degree or equivalent qualification while applying for the post.
  5. The Candidate must submit copy of Medical Registration from Medical Council of India or State Medical Council / proof of recognition of his/her degree from Medical Council of India or with State Medical Council, failing which application will be rejected.
  6. Since the application forms are to be filled ONLINE the candidate must ensure that they fill the correct and complete information. On the basis of the information filled by the candidates ONLINE, their suitability for appearing in the entrance examination will be assessed. The Institute will not be responsible if application of any candidate is rejected on the basis of information filled by him ONLINE in the application form.
  7. While filling ONLINE application forms, candidates must follow the instructions on the screen.
  8. Incomplete application and application received after the last date will summarily be rejected.
  9. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Director, SGPGIMS, Lucknow will be final.
  10. The candidate must write his/her name and registration no. on the back of the Bank Draft.
  11. The completed application along with enclosures (print out of application form (all 03 pages) filled ONLINE along with Bank Draft and all necessary documents) should be sent latest by 20th May 2009 through courier or speed post in a envelope super scribed “Application for entrance exam of SR(HS)/DM/M.Ch/PDCC/PDF” (with specialty) and addressed to Executive Registrar, SGPGIMS, Raebareli Road, Lucknow 226014.
