Admission notice of the School of Telemedicine & Biomedical Informatics,

Application are invited for ONE YEAR Diploma Course in the
following disciplines
1. Diploma in Telemedicine
2. Diploma in Hospital Information Management System
(HIMS)
3. Diploma in Public Health Informatics
4. Diploma in Digital Medical Library
5. Diploma in Nursing Informatics
1 & 2
MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/BHS/ BCA / BSc. / BSc. (IT)/ Diploma ( Engg.
– Electronics, Instrumentation, Communication, IT, Computer
Science from a Polytechnic),B.Sc.(Medical Laboratory
Technician), B.Sc. in Nursing or it’s equivalent. Mid-career
professionals preferred
3.
MBBS/BDS / Master’s in Hospital Administration / Masters in
Public Health. Mid-career professionals preferred
4.
Science Graduates with Bachelor in Library Science or
Bachelor in Library & Information Science. Mid-career
professionals preferred
Eligibility Criteria:
5. Diploma / Bachelor Degree or above in Nursing from
recognized institution
No. of Seats. Ten in each stream. Additional two for Sponsored seats. Course Fee: Rs. 20,000
Entrance Examination: Selection of candidates will be based on the All India Entrance
Examination Test based on MCQ Pattern to be held on July 25th 2009 at the Institute. No
Entrance Test for Sponsored Candidates.
Examination Center: SGPGI Campus, Lucknow. Exact location to be announced at the
Website.
Reservations: As per U.P. Govt. rules.
Age: Maximum 30 years, relaxation as per Govt. rules (No age limit for sponsor candidates)
How to apply:
Apply Online in web site www.stbmi.ac.in (or) Download the application form (pdf) and send
duly filled in application along with a demand draft of Rs.300/- towards Examination Fee drawn
in favor of School of Telemedicine & Biomedical Informatics, payable at Lucknow by Registered
post/Speed Post addressed to The Course Coordinator, School of Telemedicine & Biomedical
Informatics, SGPGIMS, Raibareli Road, Lucknow-226014 (UP) India on or before July 20th 2009.
Sponsored Candidates may submit advance copy of the application, however, the
applications through proper Channel should reach before the admission date i.e. July 25th 2009.
List of eligible & selected candidates will be displayed on Institute’s website.

you may want to add courses offered by JNU (advanced diploma in bioinformatics) - i actually did that in 2001 and then came for a masters to the US where there are several informatics programs.

as an ex-doc and now an biomedical informatician (in both research and in startup, see http://TrialX.com) i can say its a great choice. and the field will only grow in the future
